I go by Ali Ramos for disability / LGBTQIA+ activism and Kittylegs as an artist. Kittylegs Design has been a project that I started for a little over a decade now. As an LCSW, graphic designer, entrepreneur, and community leader, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, design, and operational knowledge. This closely aligns with the mission of providing quality mental health services and cohesive work environments to clients and employees alike.
I began my academic journey in 2005 at Amarillo college and transferred to Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA, studying graphic design and building a successful career as an illustrator for more than a decade. I leverage this background to assist organizations with branding
and cohesive clinical
program development,
utilizing modern design tools and incorporating AI to create more accessible experiences.
In 2016, I returned to West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX to pursue social work, seeking to combine my creative and interpersonal skills with a more personally impactful career. After earning my Master of Social Work from Columbia University’s online platform in 2020, I joined the university as a Live Support Specialist, partnering with faculty and students to deliver engaging online learning experiences. In this role, I developed educational materials, supported course onboarding, analyzed student feedback, and helped optimize virtual learning environments.
In 2023, I transitioned into private practice, where I currently provide both in-person and virtual services working with high-acuity adolescents and young adults. Operating my own practice has given me firsthand experience with documentation requirements, compliance considerations, and the encounters that clinicians navigate every day. I am comfortable with using various EMRs and am a quick learner when trained.
In addition, I have founded and led large-scale community initiatives, including establishing a successful 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Amarillo, TX called Queervana that provides the only LGBTQIA+ brick-and-mortar location in the Texas Panhandle. We currently offer a comfortable environment with private offices, mental health services, massage, and assist with housing a local trans organization's food bank serving more than 500 families each week.
These experiences strengthened my ability to cultivate engagement and have reinforced my belief that exceptional organizations are built through environments where people feel empowered to do their best work.
